Squads
Squad Programs
Catering for different levels of swimming and training AJ’s Squad Swimming program runs Monday -Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Junior Squad
Junior Squad concentrates on improving stroke technique and stamina. The lesson duration is increased by 30 minutes from Learn to Swim classes. This level is squad orientated and provide students with a competitive and sociable environment in which to hone their skills. Diving, tumble-turning and finishing techniques are also introduced and explored.
Intermediate Squad
Swimmers are encouraged to build relationships with their coach and familiarise themselves with squad etiquette. Squad members are encouraged to swim at least twice a week to build the endurance and fitness required for club swimming and racing.
Senior Performance Squad
Seniors are encouraged to swim for health and as a competitive sport for school aged and adult swimmers of all abilities. Many of the Senior swimmers are part of AJ’s Swim Team and have succeeded at District and State levels.
Master Classes (Adults & Tri Athletes)
Master Classes are for swimmers who know how to ‘swim’ the intermediate/advanced levels and are looking for stroke correction and additional advice on certain areas they wish to improve. Swimmers will work on improving their technique and building endurance. Swimmers in this level usually have specific goals they wish to achieve, such as complete an open water swim, triathlon or swim for relaxation/fitness reasons. Our Coach will help work towards achieving your individual goals.

Each swimmer in Junior & Intermediate Squads should have the following items – cap, goggles, kick-board, a pair of fins and a water bottle. Senior Squad and Master Classes should have all of the previously listed equipment plus hand paddles and a pull bouy.
